  • The installer does not recognise the install disk, making it impossible to install. To fix:
    • Run the install as normal. When the installer complains about the CD, cancel the installation.
    • In installation disk 1, open up the disc1 directory, and copy the contents of the .rar files to your installation directory. (This should create the "static" subdirectory.)
    • Do the same with disk 2.
    • Do the same with disk 3 (game disk). *After* copying the contents of the .rar files, copy the "localizations" and "static" directories from the disc3 directory, overwriting the files in place. (Note: the resulting files will be read-only. You may want to run
      chmod -R u+w *
in the root Divine Divinity directory in order to prevent future problems with patchs.)
    • The game is now installed. The file div.exe is the actual game, and the file configtool.exe configures the game.
  • You must turn renderer to "Software", as the D3D renderer creates black boxes around all objects, and makes loading very slow.
  • After changing the renderer, the game works.
  • Cedega has a problem with crashes (the game will crash every 15 minutes or so), and with framerate in the cities. Wine has neither of these problems.
  • There are minor problems with stuttering in sound and graphics.
